最近日本でも韓国人、中国人に対して嫌悪感を持つ人間が出てきているようだが、筆者が個人的に付き合いのあった韓国人、中国人、これらの系列のアメリカ人、日本人など、非常に性格が良く、人間的に尊敬できる人も多かった。勿論押し出しの強さなど日本人との「違い」は確実にあるが、嫌悪するようなものではない。
一方でニュースで流れてくる中国政府や韓国政府のやりようには憤りを感じることも多く、また民意として伝えられるニュースについても快くないものが多い。個々に批判すべき部分は多いが、個々人は受け入れられないものではなく、両面を理解した上で冷静に考えるべきであろう。地理は動かせない現状であり、大きな世界の枠組みの中で、時に競争することはあっても基本的には協調してやっていくのがお互いのためであると思われる。特に実利もないままに関係性を悪化させようとする韓国政府には頭を抱えるばかりであるが、それをもって個々人に対して憎しみの感情を抱くべきではない。
橋下桜井会談に戻るが、ことほど左様に民族弾圧については否定的な筆者であるにも拘わらず、対談内容の書き起こしを見ると一方的に桜井氏の発言の方がロジカルであり、橋下氏は議論から逃げている。このような対談を受ける義務はないという意味で自ら対談を企画したと言える立場にも関わらず、子供の屁理屈のような理論を投げてみては理路整然と叩かれる橋下氏は無計画であったと言わざるを得ない。
対談の勝敗はひとえに両者の能力の差異によるものである。理屈で言えば恐らくは橋下氏の方が正しい事を言っているのだろうが、何も前提知識なくこの対談を見れば橋下氏が間違ったことを主張しているように見えかねないだろう。
これにより正しいことを主張する人間の責任の重さを痛感せざるを得ない。特殊な人間は明らかに間違った理屈でも人を魅了し、同調させることができる。オウムの時の上祐氏などもその一例と言っていいだろう。これに対し、正しい事を主張して反論する立場の人間が能力不足である場合、危険な思想を持ち上げる片棒を担いだ形になってしまう。
橋下氏は関わるべきでなかった。今回の対談により桜井氏の活動に注目を集めさせ、対談の内容によりあの著名な橋下氏がねじ伏せられたと桜井氏の株を上げ、結果的には民族差別活動の支援をした格好である。これだけの組織をまとめあげる論客であり、腕に覚えがなければ勝負を挑むべきではなかったと思う。従軍慰安婦問題での失言しかり、橋下氏がリアルタイムの討論で相手をねじ伏せられる能力を持たないことは明白であり、名を上げようとの邪な思いで逆に生贄となった愚かな事例として記憶しておきたい。
